Trenz Sauvignon Blanc

A Sauvignon Blanc that clearly shows its character: juicy, aromatic and with the typical tension between fruit and freshness.

The Michael Trenz winery is rooted in Rheinhessen – a region known for its Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant acidity and aromatic intensity. Trenz works in a varietal and straightforward manner.

Passion fruit and gooseberry dominate the glass, complemented by notes of green bell pepper and freshly cut grass. Mineral hints keep the aromatics in balance and ensure a dry, invigorating finish without heaviness.

Recommendation: Serve well chilled at 9–11 °C. Pairs well with goat cheese, asparagus with herb vinaigrette, pan-fried sea bass, or a light summer meal. Also a good choice as an aperitif – especially on warm days when an uncomplicated yet robust white wine is desired.

Weingut Michael Trenz

The Trenz winery in the Rheingau – founded in 1670. Michael Trenz has been running the family business as owner and cellar master since 1998. On nearly 15 hectares, primarily Riesling is grown, along with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. The soils consist of Taunus quartzite with a humus layer of only ten centimeters – barren, and for that very reason, mineral-rich. Among the best sites are the Johannisberger Hölle and the Johannisberger Vogelsang. In 2008, Gault Millau named the estate the Discovery of the Year. Since 2002, two hectares in Stellenbosch have been part of the estate – Rheingau signature at the Cape.
