Trenz Johannisberg Riesling Kabinett Fruchtsüss

Trenz Johannisberg Riesling Kabinett Fruchtsüss
A classic Rheingau Riesling with the interplay between fruity sweetness and invigorating acidity typical of Johannisberg — light, aromatic and without heaviness in the glass.
The Michael Trenz winery is located in the heart of the Rheingau, one of Germany's most traditional Riesling regions. Johannisberg, world-renowned for Schloss Johannisberg, stands for delicate Kabinett wines with low alcohol and precise fruit – styles that Trenz continues to cultivate with meticulous craftsmanship.
On the nose, grapefruit, passion fruit, and a hint of ripe banana. On the palate, dried fruit and pomegranate emerge, rounded off by lemon balm and ripe pear. The residual sweetness is balanced by fresh acidity—the result is a light, approachable wine with a pleasantly long fruity finish.
Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with spicy Asian dishes, blue cheese, light poultry with fruit sauce, or as an accompaniment to citrus desserts. Also a good choice on its own as a summer aperitif.

The Trenz winery in the Rheingau – founded in 1670. Michael Trenz has been running the family business as owner and cellar master since 1998. On nearly 15 hectares, primarily Riesling is grown, along with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. The soils consist of Taunus quartzite with a humus layer of only ten centimeters – barren, and for that very reason, mineral-rich. Among the best sites are the Johannisberger Hölle and the Johannisberger Vogelsang. In 2008, Gault Millau named the estate the Discovery of the Year. Since 2002, two hectares in Stellenbosch have been part of the estate – Rheingau signature at the Cape.
