Pünderich Marienburg Riesling GG

Pünderich Marienburg Riesling GG
The Marienburg vineyard in Pünderich is considered one of the great steep slopes of the Moselle — and Clemens Busch is one of the winemakers who most consistently bring out its character.
The winery has been managed biodynamically by Clemens and Rita Busch since the 1980s and has been Demeter-certified since 2005. The vines grow on Devonian slate, which stores the day's heat and releases it slowly at night—crucial for the aromatics and acidity. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in wooden barrels are standard practice, and interventions in the cellar are kept to a minimum.
In the glass, the Marienburg GG displays a clear citrus profile: lemon zest, green apple, beneath which lies a smoky, mineral undertone typical of the Pünderich slate. The wine possesses both body and tension—the acidity is supportive without being harsh, and the finish is long and lingering with a salty, almost flinty note.
