Pfaffenwies Lorch Riesling QW Rheingau 1.5L

A dry Riesling from the Rheingau with structure and pull, bottled in a 1.5-liter magnum bottle: a bottle for the large dinner table.

The Pfaffenwies site in Lorch is one of the top sites of the Georg Breuer winery. On the slope, shallow slate alternates with quartzite and deep loess at the foot of the slope. The southwestern orientation brings sun and warmth, cool nights preserve the freshness of the grapes. The wine matured for eleven months in a large oak barrel.

The nose reveals chamomile and almond, on the palate yellow fruit and floral notes. The acidity is lively and fresh, the finish is robust and carried by noticeable extract.

Recommendation: Serve it at 8 to 10 °C with fried zander, sweetbreads or an aged mountain cheese. The magnum bottle is suitable for larger groups and long evenings at the table.

Weingut Georg Breuer

Weingut Georg Breuer from Rüdesheim – Rieslings you won't forget. Clear, precise, full of character.

The steep slopes on the Berg Schlossberg, with terraces of up to 65 percent incline, are no place for machines. Here, manual labor, experience, and a good instinct count. Only the best grapes make it into the bottle – the rest stays out. That is an attitude, not a promise.

In the glass: mandarin peel, red apple, white peach. Slim, lively, straightforward.

And a special detail: every year, an artist designs the label of the Berg Schlossberg. An invitation to take a close look – at the bottle and at what is inside it.
