MASSERI Primitivo Terre di Chieti IGP Ltd. edition

A semi-dry Primitivo from Abruzzo, bursting with concentrated fruit and surprising freshness. The limited edition MASSERI from Tenuta Ulisse opens with a compact bouquet of dark forest berries, ripe currants, and juicy plums. On the palate, subtle floral notes emerge, supported by an elegant, very soft tannin structure. The finish is lively and subtly mineral.

Behind this wine are the brothers Antonio and Luigi Ulisse, who continue their grandfather's legacy in the hills around Crecchio and Lanciano. The winery combines deep roots in the region with modern precision: The Primitivo grapes are selectively hand-harvested in small ten-kilo crates and cooled with dry ice on their way to the cellar. This ensures that the berries remain completely undamaged and retain their clear, intense aromas all the way to the bottle.

With its subtle residual sweetness and soft texture, this Primitivo is a versatile companion to robust and slightly spicy dishes. It pairs perfectly with braised leg of lamb, hearty pasta dishes with wild boar ragout, or a mature Pecorino cheese. Serve at a drinking temperature of 16–18 °C to best showcase the balance between dark fruit and mineral freshness.
