The Mac-Talla Friends of Fèis 2026 is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky with cognac cask maturation: smoky, fruity, and bottled at a robust 52.4% ABV. The limited edition is released on the occasion of the Fèis Ìle 2026, the Islay festival.

It was bottled by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers. Mac-Talla stands for whisky from the island of Islay, the epitome of maritime peat malts. Here, the typical smoke of the island meets the aromatics of cognac casks.

In the nose, coastal notes and smoke appear, plus dried fruits, grapes, caramel, and fine spices. On the palate, peat smoke, sweet fruit, vanilla, and oak spice combine, accompanied by a hint of grape skin. The bottling strength gives the malt depth and structure. The finish is long and warm, with smoke, fruit, and spice.

Recommendation: neat in a tulip glass, if necessary with a few drops of water to open up the fruit notes further. A bottle for collectors and for all who appreciate Islay peat with cask finesse.
