Poggio all Nane Maremma Toscana DOC

Poggio all Nane Maremma Toscana DOC
Herbal spice, dark fruit and velvety tannins — the Poggio alle Nane shows what the Maremma can do when craftsmanship and location come together.
Le Mortelle belongs to the Antinori family and cultivates the Argentario peninsula on the Tuscan coast. The climate is Mediterranean and rugged: sea breezes, plenty of sunshine, and poor soils of limestone and clay. The Poggio alle Nane matures for 16 months in barriques —long enough for structure, short enough not to overpower the fruit.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. The nose opens with aromas of blackcurrant, thyme, and licorice , with hints of violet and dry mountain herbs. On the palate, it is warm and dense, the tannins velvety without being soft. The finish is long and slightly spicy, with a lingering aftertaste of dark plum and cedar.
Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs well with venison ragù, grilled lamb loin, or aged Pecorino cheese . Ready to drink now, will keep until 2030.
