Botrosecco Maremma Toscana DOC

Botrosecco Maremma Toscana DOC
The Botrosecco Maremma Toscana DOC is the Tuscan powerhouse from Le Mortelle – the 270-hectare estate of the Marchesi Antinori family in the heart of the wild Maremma, a few kilometers from Castiglione della Pescaia. The name derives from the wild myrtle bush, which grows abundantly here and lends the wine its distinctive character. The blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Cabernet Franc grows on medium-weight, sandy-silty, siliceous, and clay soils – hand-harvested with meticulous selection.
In the glass, it shines a rich ruby red with purple reflections . The nose opens with a bouquet of Amarena cherry, blackcurrant, and blueberry , complemented by fresh notes of eucalyptus and Mediterranean herbs, as well as subtle spice nuances of tobacco and white pepper. On the palate, it is full-bodied, juicy, and balanced, with velvety tannins and a long, invigorating finish with notes of cocoa and fresh fruit.
Matured for 12 months in French oak barrels at controlled temperatures and then bottle-aged, this wine is served at 13.5–14.5% ABV at an ideal temperature of 16–18°C . An ideal accompaniment to grilled beef, venison stew, braised meats, and aged Pecorino cheese – powerful, Mediterranean, and irresistible.
