La Chapelle Mignard

A classic white wine from the south of France that combines the warmth of the Languedoc with a fine freshness. The La Chapelle Mignard from Château Fontarèche impressively demonstrates how precise and structured southern French white wine cuvées can be.

Château Fontarèche is one of the oldest and most traditional wineries in the Corbières region. The family estate's historic vineyards are surrounded by the typical garrigue landscape. The barren limestone soils force the vines to root deeply, thus ensuring a natural reduction in yields. Traditional grape varieties grow here, which are perfectly adapted to the dry, Mediterranean climate and form the basis for this expressive white wine.

In the glass, a clear interplay of aromas unfolds, featuring ripe white peach, grapefruit zest, and subtle floral notes reminiscent of broom. On the palate, the wine shows a round, slightly creamy mouthfeel, which is traversed by a fine, mineral vein of acidity. The finish is dry and brings with it a fine herbal spice that reflects the calcareous soil of its origin.

Serve this wine at 8 to 10 °C. It is an excellent companion to grilled sea bass, Mediterranean oven-roasted vegetables, or a fresh goat cheese like Picandou. It also works perfectly as an uncomplicated aperitif with green olives and roasted almonds.
