Fontarèche Tradition Rouge

The Fontarèche Tradition Rouge comes from the Languedoc, one of France's oldest wine regions, where sun, slate, and Mediterranean winds shape the grapes. Château Fontarèche is located in the heart of the Corbières massif and has been cultivating its vineyards for generations — the name stands for artisanal vinification without compromise.

In the glass, it reveals a deep dark ruby red. The nose opens with ripe black cherries, blackberry, and a hint of dried herbs — thyme, rosemary — as they characterize the garrigue surrounding the vineyards. On the palate, the tannins feel firm but well-integrated, and the acidity gives the wine structure and length. The finish brings a subtle smokiness and dark spice notes.

Typically, the Tradition Rouge is based on a cuvée of Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan — grape varieties that reach their best form in the Corbières. Served at 16–18 °C, it accompanies leg of lamb with herbs de Provence, grilled merguez, or a robust Manchego. It also cuts a fine figure for an evening at the table with friends and a good charcuterie board.
