Chardonnay Les Cabanes

A Chardonnay that shows the Languedoc at its most beautiful, away from the major appellations: sun-ripened, dry, and with the unmistakable character of the Southern French garrigue in the background.

Château Fontarèche is located in the heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon, one of France's oldest wine regions. The estate is one of the region's reliable addresses, working on limestone-clay soils and in a Mediterranean climate with hot days and cool nights—conditions that give white wines freshness and structure without sacrificing ripeness.

In the glass, the Les Cabanes shows a bright straw yellow. On the nose, ripe pear, white peach, and a hint of citrus zest. On the palate, medium body, lively acidity that keeps the wine lean despite the Mediterranean warmth, and a clean, slightly mineral finish.

Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass with fennel, goat cheese from the Languedoc, or a Provençal vegetable terrine. Also uncomplicated as a summer evening wine without any major accompaniment.
