Fontarèche Tradition Blanc

The Fontarèche Tradition Blanc comes from the Languedoc, one of France's oldest wine regions, which today ranks among the most exciting white wine addresses in the south. Château Fontarèche is located in the Corbières area and cultivates its vineyards on calcareous rock under a dry Mediterranean climate — conditions that give white wines a structure and freshness one might not immediately expect here.

In the glass, the Tradition Blanc shows bright citrus notes, white blossoms, and a hint of melon, underpinned by a lively acidity that gives the wine drive and length. The finish is fresh and clean with a light mineral component that points to the calcareous soils.

Served well-chilled at 8–10 °C, it pairs with grilled sea bass, goat cheese from Provence, or a bouillabaisse. It also cuts a fine figure as an uncomplicated aperitif on the terrace.

The Château

Chateau Fontarèche

Between Narbonne and Carcassonne, in the heart of the Languedoc, lies Château Fontarèche – one of the oldest wineries in the Corbières appellation. The Château has been family-owned since 1682: at that time, Pierre Mignard, portrait painter to Louis XIV, acquired the estate. Today, the de Lamy family, direct descendants of the Mignards, continues the legacy in the ninth generation – together with a team led by director Vincent Dubernet.

Over 17 different grape varieties grow on more than 130 hectares around the Château: Syrah, Carignan, and Grenache Blanc alongside Roussanne, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. This diversity is reflected in the range – from powerful Corbières red wines to fresh Vins de Pays d'Oc. What all the wines have in common is the Mediterranean terroir between the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills of the Pyrenees: dry summers, nutrient-poor soils, and plenty of sun.
