Jaspis Syrah dry Däublin Baden country wine unfiltered
A Syrah from the Markgräflerland that shows what the southwest of Germany is capable of: dark fruit, smoke, and a velvety structure all in one.
Weingut Ziereisen cultivates its vineyards in Baden's Efringen-Kirchen near the Swiss border — loess-loam and limestone characterize the soils. Hanspeter Ziereisen is one of the pioneers of natural viticulture in Baden. The Jaspis Syrah is released as a Badischer Landwein and bottled unfiltered — the label says it all: maximum expression, minimal intervention.
In the glass, cold smoke opens up with roasted notes, followed by red-berry cherry, milk chocolate, and a hint of herbal spice. On the palate, the wine shows a firm body with genuine power: dark chocolate, nougat, toasted nuts. The tannins are velvety, the acidity lively — the finale lingers long with cherry fruit and smoky notes.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs with braised lamb shoulder, wild boar ragout, or mature mountain cheese.
