Haus Klosterberg Riesling fruity-sweet

A Riesling that does not hide its sweetness, but shows it confidently — while maintaining the tension that makes the Mosel so special. The Haus Klosterberg by Markus Molitor is vinified as fruity-sweet and is aimed at all those who understand sweet Rieslings not as a compromise, but as a distinct style.

Markus Molitor is one of the most renowned producers on the Mosel. His winery in Wehlen cultivates vineyards along the river, many of them on steep slate — a soil that gives the Riesling its characteristic minerality and coolness. The Haus Klosterberg is the most accessible entry into the Molitor range, without sacrificing its origin.

In the glass, it shows aromas of white peach, apricot, and a hint of citrus zest. The typical Mosel acidity keeps the sweetness in balance and prevents the wine from feeling heavy — the finish remains fresh and slightly mineral. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C.

Well-chilled as an aperitif, with slightly spicy dishes such as Asian cuisine with coconut milk, with blue cheese, or with fruit cakes featuring stone fruits. Those who have only known Riesling as dry until now will find a convincing entry into the sweet style of the Mosel here.

Weingut Markus Molitor

Weingut Markus Molitor stands for Mosel Riesling that clearly expresses the unique characteristics of this German wine region. Hardly any other winery understands how to translate the steep slate slopes of the Mosel into wines that combine minerality, freshness, and depth in their own unique way.

At Vinoscout, you will find a fine selection of four white wines that show what the Mosel has to offer in terms of Riesling – from fresh lightness to mature depth. Each bottle tells its own story: some impress with zesty acidity and a lean structure, others with dense aromatics and an almost creamy texture, which is typical for the best sites along the river.

The bottles are priced between 17.30 and 25.60 EUR, making the range interesting for both uncomplicated enjoyment and special occasions. Whether as a spontaneous companion for the evening or as a highlight on a festive table – at Markus Molitor, you will find Rieslings that bring the Mosel to life in every glass.
