Brauneberger Klostergarten Pinot Noir

The Brauneberger Klostergarten Pinot Noir from Markus Molitor shows what the Mosel can do beyond Riesling: a lean, precise Pinot Noir from one of the best-known vineyard sites in the Middle Mosel village of Brauneberg.

Markus Molitor is one of the defining names of the Mosel. His winery in Wehlen manages over 100 hectares of steep slopes, including top parcels in Zeltingen, Wehlen, and Bernkastel. The Klostergarten in Brauneberg provides grapes with a distinct character: the slate soils also shape this red wine with a mineral tension that is typical of the Mosel.

In the glass, it reveals cherry, raspberry pulp, and a hint of violets, underpinned by fine spice and a touch of cedar wood. The tannins are silky, the acidity is lively without being sharp, and the finish remains long and clear. Typical of Molitor's signature style: elegance over extraction.

Best served at 16–17 °C. Pairs well with salmon trout with herb butter, duck breast on lentils, or mild goat cheese. It also makes a great companion for an uncomplicated weeknight dinner.

Weingut Markus Molitor

Weingut Markus Molitor stands for Mosel Riesling that clearly expresses the unique characteristics of this German wine region. Hardly any other winery understands how to translate the steep slate slopes of the Mosel into wines that combine minerality, freshness, and depth in their own unique way.

At Vinoscout, you will find a fine selection of four white wines that show what the Mosel has to offer in terms of Riesling – from fresh lightness to mature depth. Each bottle tells its own story: some impress with zesty acidity and a lean structure, others with dense aromatics and an almost creamy texture, which is typical for the best sites along the river.

The bottles are priced between 17.30 and 25.60 EUR, making the range interesting for both uncomplicated enjoyment and special occasions. Whether as a spontaneous companion for the evening or as a highlight on a festive table – at Markus Molitor, you will find Rieslings that bring the Mosel to life in every glass.
