The wind, which is typical for the Horse Heaven Hills in the state of Washington, forces the vines to remain small and to develop less dense foliage. This leads to the grapes being more exposed to the sun. This, coupled with the strong wind and the experience of winemaker Juan Muñoz Oca, ensures that the wines unfold a very special, impressive aroma.
The Columbia Crest H3 Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon shows a deep red with purple reflections in the glass. In the bouquet, scents of ripe, red berries can be recognized, with earthy and roasted aromas also coming to light. A juicy, full-bodied wine that offers a good tannin structure while showing a beautiful fruit that reminds one of currants and plums. The finish is long and silky, with nuances of coffee and dark chocolate being accentuated.
The Cabernet Sauvignon matures for 18 months in barrels made of French oak.

The Winery
Columbia Crest was founded in 1983 and is a US winery located in Washington State, three hours' drive from Seattle. Situated on the Columbia River and protected by the Cascade Mountains, the region offers perfect conditions for viticulture.
In addition, these conditions are favored by the climate, which is characterized by a controlled water supply and sufficient hours of sunshine.
A variety of grape varieties are grown for the production of the wines on a vineyard area of 2500 hectares. These include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Chardonnay, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah.
