Emil Bauer Secco
A sparkling Secco from the Palatinate that needs no grand pronouncements: fresh, light, easy to drink — and that's exactly what it should be.
Emil Bauer is a family winery from Kleinkarlbach in the heart of the Palatinate region. For generations, the family has stood for meticulously crafted wines that are down-to-earth and approachable—without compromising on quality in the cellar. Their Secco is the sparkling expression of this philosophy: approachable, honest, and with a clear focus on drinking pleasure rather than complexity.
In the glass, it displays a pale yellow color with a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is fresh and inviting: green apple, a hint of citrus peel, and delicate white blossoms. On the palate, it is light-bodied with lively, crisp acidity—no lingering residual sugar, but rather a clean freshness that invigorates the mouth. The finish is short and clear, deliberately without heaviness. It is precisely this straightforwardness that makes it so suitable for everyday enjoyment.
Serve well chilled at 6–8 °C . As an aperitif, it instantly lifts your spirits—but it's also the perfect choice with tarte flambée, light summer salads, bruschetta with tomatoes, or an evening on the terrace. If you don't need champagne but still want something sparkling with class, this is the one for you.
