Emil Bauer Grauer Burgunder

Emil Bauer Grauer Burgunder
Emil Bauer's Grauburgunder shows what the Palatinate can do with this grape variety: a full-bodied white wine with a clear line that neither tips into heaviness nor into arbitrariness.
The Emil Bauer winery is located in Landau-Nußdorf in the southern part of the Palatinate – a region known for its warmth, deep loess soils, and early-ripening Burgundy varieties. The Bauer family has cultivated their vineyards for generations and focuses on traditional winemaking methods that emphasize the character of the grape variety.
In the glass, the wine displays ripe pear and white peach, underpinned by a hint of almond and subtle spice. The aging process imparts a creamy texture without masking the natural freshness of the Palatinate region. The finish is long and slightly nutty.
Best served at 10–12 °C . Pairs well with veal schnitzel, pasta with cream sauce, pan-fried salmon, or a mature Munster cheese. Also a perfect accompaniment to a relaxed summer evening on the terrace.
