Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Kellerberg Magnum

Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Kellerberg Magnum
Kellerberg is one of the great vineyard sites of the Wachau – a steep ridge of primary rock above Dürnstein, where Grüner Veltliner finds its most complex expressions. In the magnum bottle, this Smaragd matures particularly slowly and evenly.
The Domäne Wachau estate cultivates over 440 hectares along the Danube, from Loibenberg to Achleiten, and is one of the region's most renowned wineries. The Smaragd category—named after the eponymous lizard that basks on the dry stone walls of the terraces—represents fully ripe, dry wines with more than 12.5% alcohol by volume and high aging potential.
In the glass, the Kellerberg displays its typical character: white pepper, ripe quince, and a mineral foundation reminiscent of slate and wet stone. The acidity is precise and adds tension without being harsh. Long, saline finish. Drinking window: 2025–2035 ; the magnum bottle further slows its development.
