Domäne Wachau Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Terrassen Magnum

The Domäne Wachau is one of Austria's most well-known wine cooperatives, founded in 1938, with vineyards along the Danube between Melk and Krems. The Terrassen label stands for wines from the typical loess terraces of the Wachau — lighter, more accessible soils than the primary rock sites of the Smaragd tier, but with a clear regional signature. Federspiel denotes a light to medium-bodied style with a maximum of 12.5% vol. according to the Wachau classification system — named after the lure used in falconry.

In the glass, the typical Grüner Veltliner character is revealed: white pepper and fresh herbal spice in the foreground, followed by yellow apple and a hint of citrus zest. Juicy on the palate, with lively acidity and a slender body — not a heavyweight, but precise and typical of the variety. The finish is spicy and off-dry.
