Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Blason de L'Evangile Magnum HK

The Blason de L'Evangile is the second wine of Château L'Évangile in Pomerol – vinified by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), who have owned the Château since 1990. The magnum bottling matures more slowly and evenly than the standard bottle, which gives the wine additional depth and complexity over the years.

Pomerol stands for Merlot-dominated wines on iron-rich soils – the so-called Crasse de fer. This shapes the style: fully ripe blackberry and plum, underscored by a hint of graphite and cedarwood. The tannins are ripe and velvety, the acidity well-integrated, the finish long and spicy. Typical for the appellation, it shows a dense, fleshy mid-palate without the heaviness of some neighboring regions.

Best served between 16 and 18 °C, ideally decanted an hour before pouring. Pairs with braised leg of lamb, entrecôte with herb butter, or a strong Comté. As a magnum, it is also a harmonious gift for occasions where a standard bottle would not be enough.
