Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) Blason de L'Evangile Magnum HK
The Blason de L'Evangile Magnum HK from Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) is the second wine from Château L'Évangile in Pomerol – a magnum-sized charmer with the elegance of a great Pomerol, without all the stiffness. Presented in a 1.5-liter bottle in a wooden case, it makes a particularly impressive display on the table, with a clear, deep color and violet reflections.
The nose is powerful and fresh, with raspberry, blackcurrant, a touch of cherry, and a delicate floral note that speaks of the Merlot domain of Pomerol. This is complemented by light spices, a hint of cocoa, and a moderate toasty note from the barrique, making the wine captivating yet not heavy.
On the palate, the Blason de L'Evangile Magnum is smooth and rounded, with silky tannins, good structure, and a long, fruity finish. At around 13.5–14.0% ABV, it pairs perfectly with lamb, beef steak, game, or a fine cheese board – a Bordeaux that pours with style and, above all, makes you want another sip.
