Domaine Lafage GN3 [Au Cube]

GN3 [Au Cube] represents a Roussillon red wine that combines the strengths of the south – power, warmth, garrigue spice – with a clear structure, without seeming heavy.

Jean-Marc Lafage and his wife Eliane cultivate around 200 hectares of vineyards in Roussillon, one of the sunniest wine-growing regions in France. The estate is known for reliably producing profound wines from old vines and the arid, slate-dominated terroir between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean – wines with an international focus, but a distinctly regional character.

In the glass, a dark ruby red with a violet rim. On the nose: blackberry, blackcurrant, a touch of plum – along with dry garrigue herbs, black pepper, and a subtle hint of toasted oak. On the palate, dense and warm, supported by ripe, velvety tannins. The acidity is present enough to provide freshness, the finish spicy and long.

This blend primarily combines Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan from old vines. Targeted oak aging adds structure without overpowering the fruit.

Domaine Lafage

Jean-Marc Lafage – a seventh-generation winemaker. His feel for vineyards, grapes, and cellar timing is exceptional. Together with his wife Eliane, an oenologist and wine expert, he creates wines of perfect balance, combining fruit, power, and elegance. His treasures? First-class vineyards at the foot of the Pic de Canigou – with old vines, steep slopes, and indigenous varieties such as Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan. Three examples: "Cayrol" – a powerful Carignan from the Vallée de l'Agly. "Grenache au cube" – one grape variety, three regions, bursting with sour cherry and silky tannins. And "Miraflors Rosé" – the perfect refreshing pick-me-up for hot days. Whether you're looking for a fruit-packed wine or an elegant rosé, you'll find wines with character here.
