Domaine d'Aussières Blason d'Aussières Rouge
The Blason d'Aussières is the entry into the Domaine d'Aussières range – and it doesn't do things by halves. Herbal scent, dark fruit, a firm body: this is Corbières as it should be.
The winery is located in the heart of the Corbières, between Narbonne and the foothills of the Pyrenees. The Domaine has been part of Baron Philippe de Rothschild since 2000 – Bordeaux expertise meets Languedoc terroir. The soils: dry limestone-shale garrigue, strong sunlight, little rain. Typically Mediterranean, and you can taste it.
In the glass, it shows a deep dark ruby red. On the nose, ripe blackberry, cherry, plus lavender and thyme – the herbs of the surroundings resonate. On the palate, medium to full body, tannins with structure but without edges. Oak aging provides a hint of vanilla and roasted aromas in the finish, which ends warm and spicy.
- Food: Grilled lamb with herbs, cassoulet, mature Manchego
- Temperature: 16–18 °C

Domaine d'Aussières lies in the heart of the Languedoc – a region long overshadowed by the major wine-growing areas, but now one of France's most exciting. Behind it is none other than the House of Lafite Rothschild, which manages this estate with the same keen sense of quality and origin that has made it world-renowned. No prestige here, just genuine craftsmanship: the vineyards around Narbonne yield wines that exude aromas of sun-drenched garrigue, ripe dark fruits, and a hint of wild herbs. The result is red wines that embody the character of the South – powerful yet elegant. Wines that demonstrate that the Languedoc has more to offer than many realize.
