Southern France in its purest form: The Altan d'Aussières Rouge combines the aromatic power of the Languedoc with meticulous craftsmanship in the cellar.

Domaine d'Aussières is located in the Corbières, one of the oldest wine-growing regions of the Midi, not far from Narbonne. The winery belongs to the Rothschild family (Lafite) and is run as an independent domaine with a clear focus on the local terroir – dry soils, intense sun, garrigue vegetation.

In the glass, the Altan displays aromas of blackberry and black cherry, underpinned by thyme, sage, and a hint of juniper – typical garrigue notes of the region. Six months of aging in small oak barrels give the wine structure: firm, yet well-integrated tannins, and a spicy, lingering finish. After a further eight to ten months of bottle aging, it becomes rounded and approachable.

Serving suggestion: Best served at 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb with herbs de Provence, entrecôte, or a strong goat cheese. Also a good choice to accompany an evening of southern charcuterie.
