Chardonnay Since 1983

Chardonnay Since 83 — the name says it all: Since 1983, the Schreckbichl winery in the Überetsch region of South Tyrol has been cultivating Chardonnay, and this wine draws a direct line to this heritage.

In the glass, it displays the typical signature of the estate: ripe yellow fruit, a hint of hazelnut, and subtle spice. The acidity is well-integrated, the finish dry and pleasantly long. A Chardonnay that is neither overly buttery nor bone dry—balanced, approachable, and full of character.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with risotto with mushrooms, grilled fish or mild mountain cheese from the region.

Schreckbichl Winery

Schreckbichl Winery – South Tyrolean winemaking since 1960. Twenty-six winegrowers joined forces back then to gain more independence. Today, there are approximately 300 members cultivating around 300 hectares between 230 and 650 meters above sea level – one of South Tyrol's finest vineyard sites. Tradition and modernity go hand in hand here: meticulous handwork in the vineyard, natural farming practices, state-of-the-art cellar technology, photovoltaics, and heat recovery. The portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, as well as Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Vernatsch. Authentic wines with regional character. Schreckbichl – a cooperative with a clear vision.
