Ghost Corner Syrah

Ghost Corner Syrah
David Nieuwoudt 's Ghost Corner Syrah is an exceptional red wine from the wild, maritime coastal region of Elim at the southernmost tip of South Africa – inspired by the legendary "Spookdraai" at Cape Agulhas, where sailors lost their lives and the story of the ghost of the seas is told. Deep, limestone-rich soils with slate and gravel deposits give this Syrah its distinctive minerality and cool elegance.
In the glass, it displays a deep purplish-red color with violet reflections . The nose is complex and seductive, with aromas of blackberry, black pepper, violets, and wild herbs , accompanied by subtle smoky notes and a cool, salty sea breeze. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, precise, and elegant, with silky tannins, refreshing acidity, and a long, spicy-mineral finish.
With 13.5% alcohol by volume and a serving temperature of 16–18°C, it is an ideal accompaniment to lamb, game, dark poultry and mature cheese – a Syrah that captures the rugged magic of the South African coast.
