Cederberg Chenin Blanc WO

Chenin Blanc from the Cederberg – one of the most remote and highest-altitude wine-growing regions in South Africa. Here, at over 1000 meters, cool nights provide the acidity structure that this grape variety so rarely shows on its home continent.

The Cederberg winery is located in the mountain range of the same name in the Western Cape province, around 200 kilometers north of Cape Town. The Nieuwoudt family has been cultivating the sites for generations – far from the tourist routes of the Stellenbosch region. The extreme altitude and the continental climate fundamentally shape the style of the wines.

In the glass, the Chenin Blanc shows aromas of green melon, Granny Smith apple, and pear, plus passion fruit and a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate, lively acidity with medium body, clean fruit, and a dry, refreshing finish.
