Bukettraube is one of the most unusual grape varieties in the wine world: cultivated in Germany in the 19th century, but hardly known – because South Africa is the only place that vinifies it as a single varietal. The Cederberg winery produces a surprising white wine from this niche grape.

The winery is located in the Cederberg Mountains, about 200 km north of Cape Town, at an altitude of over 1000 meters – one of the coolest and most remote wine regions in South Africa. The combination of intense sunshine and cool nights ensures slow ripening and pronounced aromatics.

In the glass, the Bukettraube reveals its characteristic Muscat aroma: rose petals, ripe lychee, and fresh passion fruit, underpinned by a hint of ginger. The palate is juicy and lively, the acidity keeping the exotic fruit in balance. The finish is aromatic and pleasantly long.
