Blaufränkisch Pettenthal

Walter Glatzer 's Blaufränkisch from Carnuntum in Lower Austria is a powerful, varietally typical red wine with depth, spice, and elegant terroir expression. The vines grow on stony, loamy soils with loess and gravel, influenced by the warm Pannonian microclimate east of Vienna.

In the glass, it shines a dark ruby garnet with violet reflections . The nose unfolds typical Blaufränkisch aromas of blackberry, blueberry, violet, and rosehip , complemented by delicate hints of herbs, pepper, and licorice. On the palate, it is powerful, juicy, and structured, with fine-grained tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, spicy-mineral finish.

After 16–18 months of aging in barriques, served at 14.0% ABV and 16–18°C , it pairs perfectly with beef, lamb, game and strong cheese – an authentic Austrian red wine with great character.

St. Antony

Do you know what happens when a steel company decides to make wine? That's the story of St. Antony . Founded in 1920 in a former limestone quarry, the winery has catapulted itself into the absolute top tier of Rheinhessen wines.

Here, everything revolves around the legendary Roter Hang (Red Slope ). Rieslings grow on the red slate soil, and they pack a punch: mineral, smoky, and full of power [citation:3]. Organic and biodynamic farming has been practiced here since 2006 [citation:2]. The wines from the Pettenthal, Orbel, and Hipping vineyards are among the best in Germany.

Let cellar master Dirk Würtz take you on a journey – from the powerful Blaufränkisch to the elegant Riesling. A truly top German winery waiting to be discovered!
