Vermouth St. Antony

Red vermouth from the Rheingau winery St. Antony — an aromatized wine with an unusually broad botanical base: wormwood, birch leaves, juniper, coriander, blackberry leaves, citrus and Curacao peels, chamomile flowers, lapacho bark, cocoa shells, Ceylon cinnamon, mace, anise and cedarwood — sweetened with German beekeeper's honey.

On the nose, bitter and herbal with hints of chamomile and cedarwood, followed by a warm, spicy depth from cinnamon and mace. The honey balances the bitterness without overpowering it.

Neat on ice with an orange slice as an aperitif. A sure bet in a Negroni with Campari, as well as in a classic Martini Rosso. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C.

St. Antony

Do you know what happens when a steel company decides to make wine? That's the story of St. Antony . Founded in 1920 in a former limestone quarry, the winery has catapulted itself into the absolute top tier of Rheinhessen wines.

Here, everything revolves around the legendary Roter Hang (Red Slope ). Rieslings grow on the red slate soil, and they pack a punch: mineral, smoky, and full of power [citation:3]. Organic and biodynamic farming has been practiced here since 2006 [citation:2]. The wines from the Pettenthal, Orbel, and Hipping vineyards are among the best in Germany.

Let cellar master Dirk Würtz take you on a journey – from the powerful Blaufränkisch to the elegant Riesling. A truly top German winery waiting to be discovered!
