"B" Riesling Reserve

The “B” Riesling Reserve from St. Antony comes from the Niersteiner Brudersberg – one of the most distinctive Rotliegend sites in Rheinhessen. Anyone who knows this origin knows: this is not a pleasing everyday Riesling, but a wine with backbone.

St. Antony manages its steep slope parts of the Brudersberg with a focus on terroir-faithful vinification. The Reserve line stands for selective harvesting and longer aging in the cellar – the wine gets time to fully express its origin profile.

In the glass, caramelized quince and ripe mirabelle appear, underlaid by spicy herbal notes and the characteristic mineral pull of the red sandstone. The acidity is taut, but not sharp – it keeps the wine lively and runs as an animating thread through the long finish. A fine melt gives the whole thing depth without heaviness.

St.Antony

VDP Member Estate

Do you know what happens when a steel company decides to make wine? That's the story of St. Antony . Founded in 1920 in a former limestone quarry, the winery has catapulted itself into the absolute top tier of Rheinhessen wines.

Here, everything revolves around the legendary Roter Hang (Red Slope ). Rieslings grow on the red slate soil, and they pack a punch: mineral, smoky, and full of power [citation:3]. Organic and biodynamic farming has been practiced here since 2006 [citation:2]. The wines from the Pettenthal, Orbel, and Hipping vineyards are among the best in Germany.

Let cellar master Dirk Würtz take you on a journey – from the powerful Blaufränkisch to the elegant Riesling. A truly top German winery waiting to be discovered!
