Bickel Stumpf Silvaner Kapellenberg Erste Lage

Bickel Stumpf Silvaner Kapellenberg Erste Lage
A Silvaner that shows what the grape variety can achieve when site and craftsmanship come together: full-bodied, spicy, with a depth that one often does not expect from Silvaner.
The Bickel-Stumpf winery from Thüngersheim on the Main is one of the reliable addresses in Franconia. The Kapellenberg bears the VDP.Erste Lage predicate — a classification that is only awarded in Franconia to single vineyards that demonstrably produce above-average quality. The grapes are harvested by hand in stages, which means: only ripe grapes make it into the barrel.
Aged in a 500-liter barrel, the wine shows slightly smoky tones in the nose, a subtle barrique note and a distinct spiciness — not a fruit bomb, but a wine with substance. On the palate, a restrained yellow fruit joins in: mirabelle, perhaps a hint of quince. The acidity is integrated, the finish long and mineral.
Serving temperature: 12–14 °C. Goes well with roast veal with herb sauce, asparagus dishes with hollandaise sauce or a mature mountain cheese.

Bickel-Stumpf – a small, exquisite family winery from Franconia. Two special vineyard sites, two distinct characters: the Mönchshof in Frickenhausen, situated on barren limestone by the river; and the Rothlauf on the Thüngersheim Johannisberg, on red sandstone. The result? Mönchshof wines: full-bodied, profound, with Burgundian elegance. Rothlauf wines: delicate, straightforward, and memorable. A member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates), cultivated with respect for nature. Not a mass-produced product, but craftsmanship you can taste.
