Zweigelt Ried Seeweingärten

The Zweigelt from Seegut Lentsch comes from a vineyard site that does not bear its name by chance: The Ried Seeweingärten is located on Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland, where the Pannonian climate with long, warm summers and cool nights ensures grapes with ripe fruit and lively acidity. Seegut Lentsch cultivates its vineyards with a view of the lake — a geographical feature that noticeably shapes the microclimate of the site.

In the glass, the Zweigelt shows a dark ruby red. The nose opens with aromas of sour cherry and ripe blackberries, underscored by a hint of violets and a subtle spicy note. On the palate, it is juicy and medium-bodied, with soft tannins and a fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively. The finish is pleasantly long, with a light peppery note at the end.

Zweigelt from Burgenland is a classic food companion: Serve it at 16–18 °C with Wiener Schnitzel, grilled duck breast, or a hearty goulash. It also pairs well with mature hard cheeses such as mountain cheese or Manchego. An uncomplicated red wine with regional character — for a weeknight evening just as much as for a relaxed weekend dinner.
