Disibodenberg Wine House Raphael Silver by Harold Faltermeyer

A Sauvignon Blanc from the Nahe region that bears the signature of its location: mineral, taut, with the cool depth typical of clay slate.

The Disibodenberg winery is located in the Nahe Valley, not far from the historic Disibodenberg monastery ruins. The Raphael Silver comes from the Kapellenberg vineyard, whose deep clay slate soils impart a pronounced minerality and emphasize the natural freshness of the grape variety.

In the glass, it displays a pale yellow color with green reflections. The nose offers aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and a hint of freshly cut grass—classic Sauvignon Blanc notes, which are further defined by a salty, slate-like mineral base. On the palate, the wine exhibits the typical lively acidity, a lean body, and a short to medium finish with a subtle herbal note.

Serving suggestion: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with goat cheese, grilled asparagus, fish dishes with citrus butter, or a light summer salad. Also suitable as a simple aperitif. Drink now—no long aging required.

The Winery

Weinhaus Disibodenberg

Above the vineyard, the ruins of the Disibodenberg monastery rise into the sky – the place where Hildegard of Bingen once lived and worked. History is not an accessory here.

It is landscape. The Disibodenberg winery cultivates its sites in the Nahe area with a seriousness that you can feel in the glass. Clay slate, volcanic subsoil, sandstone, melaphyr – each of the four individual sites has its own character, its own voice.

The steep Montfort stores heat and provides depth. The amphitheater-like Kapellenberg towers high above the fog line. The large steep site Kloster Disibodenberg carries the centuries within it. What emerges are wines with attitude: a Riesling that is simultaneously lively and profound, a Pinot Noir with real substance. No show – just honest work in unusually old soils. If that makes you curious, you've come to the right place.
