Chocolate Block 1.5L
The most sought-after wine from Boekenhoutskloof! This highly exciting and sensual cuvée offers a very broad spectrum of aromas. Only a limited number of bottles of this wine are produced, as Boekenhoutskloof obtains its "The Chocolate Block" from specific parcels in different vineyards. The grapes come from the hot, dry Malmesbury vineyard in the Swartland region north of Cape Town. The Grenache grapes come from the oldest vines of this variety in South Africa, growing in Citrusdal on very sandy soils at the foot of the Cederberg Mountains.

Boekenhoutskloof was founded around 1776 in the remotest corner of the beautiful Franschhoek Valley. The "French Corner" (Franschhoek) has preserved much of the French way of life, and thus the winemaking tradition is also rooted in French traditions. The name "Boekenhoutskloof" means "Valley of the Cape Beeches" and was popularized under this name by winemaker Marc Kent. The most well-known grape variety is Syrah, but Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon, and Viognier are also part of the portfolio.
