Riesling GG Niersteiner Hipping

A Riesling that does not hide its origin from the Roter Hang – and doesn't have to. The Niersteiner Hipping GG from St. Antony comes from the so-called "Käferberg," a north-facing section of the site that produces cool, finely structured wines even in hot vintages.

Weingut St. Antony manages some of the best parcels in the Niersteiner Roter Hang, one of the most historically significant wine-growing areas in Rheinhessen. The red slate of these steep slopes shapes the minerality of the wines like no other soil in the region.

On the nose, apple fruit appears, along with a distinct flint minerality. Clear and finely juicy on the palate – the acidity carries the wine without stinging. Herbal and yeasty notes give the fruit profile depth. The body is firm with a noticeable backbone, a trace of extract sweetness ensures balance without breaking the playful lightness.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs with zander fillet on beurre blanc, goat cheese with herbs, or a classic vitello tonnato.
