Prunotto Bussia Barolo DOCG

Bussia is one of the most prestigious vineyards in the heart of Barolo – and Prunotto is among the wineries that have helped shape this Cru philosophy in Piedmont. Anyone wanting to experience Nebbiolo in its structured, age-worthy form will find a classic starting point here.

Prunotto was founded in Alba in 1904 and has been part of the Antinori Group since 1989, which continues to run the winery with a focus on Piedmontese tradition. The Bussia vineyard in Monforte d'Alba lies at an altitude of around 350 meters – tuff and marl characterize the soil and give the Nebbiolo its characteristic minerality and tannin structure.

In the glass, the wine displays the typical profile of a classically crafted Barolo: aromas of cherry, dried rose, and violet, along with notes of tar and tobacco that deepen with age. The tannins are present but integrated – the finish is long and spicy with a fine acidity.

Serving suggestion: Now, after a little aeration, enjoy with Brasato al Barolo, wild boar goulash, or aged Parmigiano Reggiano. Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Drinking window until 2032.
