Prunotto Bric Turot Barbaresco DOCG

The Bric Turot is Prunotto's single-vineyard Barbaresco from the site of the same name in the core area of Neive — more concentrated and structured than a classic entry-level Barbaresco, but more accessible than many traditional representatives of the denomination.

Prunotto is one of the oldest houses in Piedmont, founded in 1904 in Alba. Since 1989 under the umbrella of Antinori, the winery works with its own vineyard holdings in Barbaresco and Barolo. The Bric Turot site lies on the calcareous tuff soils of Neive, which give the Nebbiolo a finer tannin structure than the heavy soils of Serralunga.

In the glass, it shows a deep garnet red. On the nose, blackberry, violet, and dried rose, plus licorice and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, medium to full body, ripe, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long finish with spicy notes of clove and dark fruit. Twelve months of aging in oak barrels and barriques give the wine structure without masking the fruit.

Serving temperature 17–18 °C. Pairs with braised leg of lamb, game ragù with pappardelle, Brasato al Barolo, or aged Parmigiano Reggiano.
