Barbaresco DOCG
Nebbiolo from the heart of Piedmont — tannin-rich, aromatically complex, and with the structural tension that characterizes Barbaresco.
Prunotto is one of the most well-known addresses in the Langhe. Founded in 1904, the winery in Alba was one of the first to make single-vineyard wines from Piedmont accessible to a wider audience. Today under the umbrella of Antinori, but with an unchanged focus on the classic grape varieties of the region: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Moscato.
This Barbaresco spends 10 months in wooden barrels — a rather moderate maturation for the appellation, which puts the fruit in the foreground. In the glass, garnet red with red reflections. On the nose, dried cherry, licorice, and a hint of rose blossom — typical for Nebbiolo from the hills around Barbaresco. On the palate, velvety tannins, lively acidity, and a spicy finish with hints of cardamom and dark leather.
- Food: Brasato al Barolo, venison ragù, mature Pecorino
- Temperature: 16–18 °C, decant 30 minutes beforehand
