POLI Bassano 24 carati matured in Barrique Jacopo Poli
A barrel-aged grappa from the heart of Veneto — matured in small French oak barriques, which give depth and structure to the distilled pomace brandy.
Jacopo Poli is one of Italy's most renowned grappa distilleries. The Poli distillery in Bassano del Grappa has been family-owned since 1898 and is considered a guardian of the northern Italian distilling tradition. Its location at the foot of Monte Grappa is no coincidence: Bassano del Grappa is the historical home of grappa, and Poli cultivates this heritage with meticulous craftsmanship—steam distillation in small alembics, gentle distillation, and controlled aging.
The 24 Carati spends time in barriques, which gives it a golden color and a significantly more complex aroma profile than a young grappa: vanilla, dried fig, a hint of caramel, along with the typical pomace spice in the background. On the palate, it is round and oily, with a long, slightly woody finish.
Neat at room temperature — ideally after a meal as a digestif. Pairs well with dark chocolate or a mature Pecorino cheese.
