Pierre Mignard

A classic Southern French wine that brings the warmth of the Mediterranean directly into your glass. The Pierre Mignard from Château Fontarèche is a single-varietal Syrah that captures the rugged, sun-drenched landscape of the Languedoc-Roussillon in a clear, dry style.

Château Fontarèche is one of the most traditional wineries in the region and looks back on a history spanning centuries. The vines are deeply rooted in the barren soils and defy the hot summers as well as the strong winds of the south. These natural conditions ensure small, thick-skinned berries with a high concentration of aromas, which is clearly reflected in the density of this wine.

In the glass, it shows a deep dark, almost violet color. The nose is characterized by dark fruit – blackberry and black cherry are in the foreground, underpinned by the typical spicy notes of the garrigue scrubland such as rosemary and wild thyme. On the palate, the Syrah presents itself as powerful and structured. Black pepper and a dark spice accompany the ripe tannins into the long, dry finish.

This red wine is an excellent companion to hearty dishes. Serve it at a drinking temperature of 16 to 18 °C with grilled lamb chops with a herb crust, a classic ratatouille, or aged hard cheese. An honest, expressive wine for long evenings at the dining table.
