Nackenheim Riesling dry QW Rheinhessen 1.5L

A Riesling with pressure and salt: The Nackenheim Riesling dry from Kühling-Gillot comes from the Roter Hang, one of the most distinctive steep slopes in Rheinhessen. Here, the red clay slate lies openly on the surface, and you can taste exactly this soil in the glass. The large-format bottle (1.5 l) is suitable for dinner parties and larger gatherings.

The Kühling-Gillot winery in Bodenheim is one of the region's trendsetters and manages its vineyards according to the rules of organic viticulture. The Nackenheimer Riesling stands for the house's local wines: It shows what the vine and soil at the Roter Hang have to offer.

On the nose, ripe yellow fruit like nectarine and red apple meet ethereal herbal notes. On the palate, the wine appears juicy and powerful, carried by clear, precise acidity. Added to this is a spicy line with red Kampot pepper and allspice; a salty minerality remains in the finish. Fruit and spice are in balance.

Recommendation: Serve it at 8 to 10 °C with fried zander, sushi, chicken with lemon, or a cheese platter with fresh goat cheese.

Weingut Kühling-Gillot

VDP Member Estate

The winery of Carolin and Oliver Battenfeld is located on the Rhine terrace. The special thing about Kühling-Gillot is the biodynamics that have been practiced since 2005. For Carolin and Oliver Battenfeld, the brown hare embodies the symbol of fertility and joie de vivre.

In recent years, the winery has developed into one of the absolute top estates in Germany. The slate subsoil of the famous Roter Hang around Nierstein and Nackenheim creates wines that, with their mixture of fine fruit and vibrant minerality, represent something like the ideal type of a great dry wine.
