Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay from the Palatinate — two varieties that complement each other: the Burgundian structure of the Pinot Blanc meets the fullness of the Chardonnay. The result is a white wine that drinks uncomplicatedly but has more depth than the name suggests.
Weingut Metzger is one of the reliable addresses in the Palatinate. The family vinifies their wines with an eye on drinkability and everyday suitability — without sacrificing substance. The Prachtstück is their terrace wine: accessible, fresh, made for a quick grab from the shelf.
In the glass, aromas of yellow peach, mirabelle, and a hint of white blossoms appear. On the palate, juicy and light, with fine minerality in the finish — not a heavyweight, but with enough pull not to seem flat.
Best served between 10 and 12 °C. Pairs with pasta with cream sauce, goat cheese salad, or grilled salmon. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated aperitif.

Yes, vinified dry. The fruit appears ripe due to peach and mirabelle, but remains clearly in the dry range — no impression of residual sugar on the palate.
What does the Pinot Blanc Chardonnay pair best with?
Pasta with cream sauce, goat cheese salad, or grilled salmon are classic companions. But it also works pure as an aperitif — uncomplicated enough to drink without food.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Best between 8 and 10 °C — i.e., well-chilled from the fridge, let it stand for 5 minutes just before pouring. Served too warm, it loses its freshness.
How long does the bottle keep after opening?
Sealed in the fridge, it keeps well for two to three days. After that, the freshness noticeably fades — the wine is designed for drinking flow, not for long-term keeping.

It is the wine for everyday life without compromises: after-work, spontaneous visits, barbecue evenings. Not a wine that needs to be staged — but one where no one is disappointed.
The Winery
The name Uli Metzger from Asselheim stands for the Weingut Metzger in the Northern Palatinate. He has been in charge of the winery since 2010, although he has been dedicated to the business, which belonged to his parents at the time, for a good 30 years. His commitment and ideas led to success.
Many technical innovations, but also the striking labels on which the wines are classified into 3 levels - similar to the cuts of beef - made the wines famous. Modern, high-quality wines are grown on around 27 hectares of land, which largely consists of lime-rich soil.
