Markus Schneider Chardonnay

Markus Schneider Chardonnay
Markus Schneider's Chardonnay shows what the Palatinate can achieve with this grape variety: an approachable, yet characterful white wine with a clear origin.
Markus Schneider cultivates his vineyards around Ellerstadt and Freinsheim in the Mittelhaardt region. The grapes for this Chardonnay come predominantly from higher-altitude limestone soils—this contributes to its freshness and structure. A smaller portion originates from warmer, lower-lying parcels, which lend the wine body and ripe fruit character.
In the glass, it displays a bright golden yellow. The nose offers aromas of mirabelle plum and apple, along with a hint of blossom and an exotic undertone. On the palate, the acidity is softly integrated, the body is medium, and there is no excessive oak influence—the finish remains pleasantly long and fruity.
