Les Onze Terrasses

Les Onze Terrasses from Domaine Lafage is a red wine from Roussillon – a region known for its sun-drenched sites, old vines and powerful, characterful wines.

Domaine Lafage is one of the most prestigious estates in Roussillon. Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage cultivate their vineyards around Perpignan with great dedication to expressing the terroir. The name "Les Onze Terrasses" refers to the terraced vineyards where the vines – typically Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan – are rooted in poor schist and granite soils.

In the glass, it displays a deep, dark ruby red. The nose offers dark berry fruits such as blackberry and cassis, underpinned by garrigue herbs, a hint of lavender, and mild spice from barrel aging. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a fresh acidity that provides structure. The finish is long, spicy, and slightly mineral.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Pairs well with lamb with herbs de Provence , grilled entrecôte, chorizo, or a strong goat cheese. Drinking window: now until 2027.

Jean-Marc Lafage – a seventh-generation winemaker. His feel for vineyards, grapes, and cellar timing is exceptional. Together with his wife Eliane, an oenologist and wine expert, he creates wines of perfect balance, combining fruit, power, and elegance. His treasures? First-class vineyards at the foot of the Pic de Canigou – with old vines, steep slopes, and indigenous varieties such as Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan. Three examples: "Cayrol" – a powerful Carignan from the Vallée de l'Agly. "Grenache au cube" – one grape variety, three regions, bursting with sour cherry and silky tannins. And "Miraflors Rosé" – the perfect refreshing pick-me-up for hot days. Whether you're looking for a fruit-packed wine or an elegant rosé, you'll find wines with character here.
