Jaspis Syrah dry Däublin Baden country wine unfiltered
A Syrah from the Markgräflerland region that shows what southwest Germany is capable of: dark fruit, smoke and a velvety texture all in one.
The Ziereisen winery cultivates its vineyards in Efringen-Kirchen, Baden, near the Swiss border—loess loam and limestone characterize the soils. Hanspeter Ziereisen is one of the pioneers of sustainable viticulture in Baden. The Jaspis Syrah is classified as a Baden regional wine and is bottled unfiltered—the label says it all: maximum expression, minimal intervention.
In the glass, a cold, smoky aroma unfolds, accompanied by notes of toast, followed by red cherry, milk chocolate, and a hint of herbal spice. On the palate, the wine displays a firm body with real power: dark chocolate, nougat, and roasted nuts. The tannins are velvety, the acidity lively—the finish is long and lingering with cherry fruit and smoky notes.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with braised lamb shoulder , wild boar ragout, or mature mountain cheese. Those who wait will be rewarded: best drinking window 2025–2030.
