Grüner Veltliner Weinviertel Ingrid Groiss

The Grüner Veltliner from Ingrid Groiss shows what the Weinviertel can do when someone looks closely: no heavy wood aging, no gimmicks — instead, clear fruit, spice, and a minerality that tells of the soil.

Ingrid Groiss farms her vineyards in the Weinviertel with a focus on varietal-typical, uncomplicated wines that are there to be drunk — not to be archived. The Grüner Veltliner is the house classic: a wine that brings the grape variety to the point directly and without detours.

In the glass, it shows aromas of pear and quince, juicy apple, and a hint of citrus — plus the white-peppery spice typical of Grüner Veltliner. On the palate, the wine is lively, with well-embedded acidity, mineral pull, and a fresh finish without heavy traces.
