Grüner Veltliner in the Schablau Reserve Ingrid Groiss
The Grüner Veltliner “In der Schablau” Reserve from Ingrid Groiss is an exceptional single-vineyard wine from the Weinviertel DAC in Lower Austria – certified organic and made from vines over 50 years old growing on calcareous conglomerate soil. After eleven months of aging on the lees, the wine displays a depth and elegance that goes far beyond the typical characteristics.
In the glass, it presents a pale yellow-green with silver reflections. On the nose, it opens with an inviting bouquet of citrus fruits, pear, quince, peach, and subtle spice , complemented by blossom honey, mango, and a light peppery note. On the palate, it is rich in texture and powerful, with lively acidity, sweet extracts, and a long, floral minerality – remarkably complex and balanced.
With 13.5% alcohol by volume and a serving temperature of 8–10 °C , it is an ideal accompaniment to roasted meats, asparagus, creamy fish dishes, and risotto. A Grüner Veltliner with character, depth, and great aging potential until 2030 .
