Grüner Veltliner Sauberg Tradition Reserve Ingrid Groiss

The Sauberg is one of the quiet addresses in the Weinviertel — not a showcase wine, but a Grüner Veltliner that draws its character from old cellar tradition and artisanal precision.

Ingrid Groiss manages her vineyards in the northern Weinviertel without modern cellar technology: lots of manual labor, consistent care in the vineyard, aging with an eye on substance instead of appeal. The reserve site Sauberg provides the foundation for this.

In the glass, the wine shows blossom honey and chamomile, plus herbal spice and a hint of orange zest — typical for ripe Grüner Veltliner from the Weinviertel when the vintage has had time to unfold. The acidity is present but finely integrated; the finish creamy and long, without losing freshness.
